Fracture (2007) R - 4 Stars

Hopkins and Davidtz give great preformances in this cat and mouse drama. You almost have to root for Hopkins as he's so savy in his manipulation of Davidtz. I really enjoyed the movie as it's a great psychological thriller.

Ted Crawford (Anthony Hopkins), lives with his wife Jennifer (Embeth Davidtz), in a beautiful home in So. California. But life is not what it seems and he wants to murder his wife and plots out every angle of how he can pull it off without getting caught. Even after being shot in the head, his wife clings to life slipping in and out of a comma.

Things just don't add up at the murder scene and District Attorney Willy Beachum (Ryan Gosling) takes on the case as he is confident he can get a fast conviction against Crawford and still leave town on time as scheduled. Beachum and Crawford play a game of cat and mouse and Beachum's intellectual background in structural engineering allows him to raise enough doubt in Crawford's theories to manipulate the court.
