District Attorney Ford Cole (Ray Liotta) and his assisitant Nora Timmer (Jolene Blalock) are part time lovers. He'd like to keep that fact under wraps as he is running for mayor. Nora comes to his house and tells him that Isaac Duparde (Mekhi Phifer), a man at the music store down the street, has raped her and now lies dead in her bed. A witness Luther Pinks (LL Cool J) tells a different story and now Ford must do what he can to protect Nora without tarnishing his reputation.
