Bug (2006) R - 2½ Stars

Gosh, talk about drama. A man is convinced he has bugs implanted into his system and his blood. He gets a distraught girl with no self esteem involved and they go way beyond the point of obsession. The movie makes you itch but is so chaotic it becomes annoying.

Agnes White's (Ashley Judd), son went missing many years back. Her ex husband Jerry (Harry Connick Jr.) has been in jail and has just been paroled. She's a bartender now living in a run down hotel hiding from her past. When she meets Peter (Michael Shannon) a Gulf War Vet, she's hesitant at first to get involved. But her fondness grows and the two begin spending time together.

Peter has a problem though, Bugs! He tells Agnes that during the war, he was implanted with a bug during a military experiment in the Middle East. He convinces Agnes, that you can see them under the microscope. Together the two reach a point of insanity when she sees them inside her as well. The psychotic rage that infests them both, is insanity itself.

Eddy found this movie one night when he was cruising through channels. It was a train wreck! It was terrible, but you couldn't turn away...that was until he thought the bugs had been implanted between his teeth and gums. Got Eddy real good a couple of nights later. We had just climbed in bed and as he reached to turn out the light, I said, "Whoa! What is that?" and started picking at his shirt. He asked what it was and I held out my fingers, and said, "Look. I think it's an aphid!" He started laughing so hard!
