After (2006) NR - 1 Star

Rarely does a movie come along that makes one have the urge to shoot themselves but I've found it.

An extreme group of urban thrill seekers travel to Russia in search of Stalin's secret metro and Ivan the Terrible's torture chamber. The film is shot in a documentary style but trying to be creative, the camera jumps all over the place. I think the producer thought that added to the effects but for me at least, I really could not stand watching it. I felt like shooting myself for wasting my time and applauded that is was finally over.

I doubt you'll be seeing any awards for this one any time soon.

Circle of Eight (2009) NR - 1 Star

Can someone please tell me why movies like this are made? These eight people are all dead and still invade the apartment building they died in due to a fire. All thanks to Jessica, who can't seem to make the right decision to break the cycle of their souls lingering around the hallways. Why make half of the characters a bit on the freaky side and the rest all yuppy's living in a scummy run down building. They all should have been freaks. And just one day after New Years countdown, Jessica is already back moving in. Confused, you're not alone. Almost like a bunch of your friends got together and made a film for a school project.

Jessica (Austin Highsmith), moves into the seemingly fair shaped Dante apartment building where a twenty something crowd resides. She quickly is advised by the manager Ed (John Bishop), of the rules and how to make nice with the other neighbors. Jessica notices one creepy tenant Randal (DJ Qualls), holding a camcorder and filming her every move. Out of the dark halls, appears a very artistic Evan (Ryan Doom) to somewhat save her. She also meets Elaine (Katie Lowes), Bale (Josh Kelly), sexy India (Natashia Williams), and Pretty boy Damon (Jesse Johnson). As Jessica becomes more adjusted to her new home, she finds her neighbors are brutally dying all around her. The more she tries to make sense of it all, the more she discovers her connection to the Dante.

The Ivory (2004) NR - 1 Star

Cristina Aroca, Guillermo Bergandi, Agustín Lozano, Ezequiel Cipols and Enrique Liporace are the stars of this real stinker of a movie. In Spanish with English subtitles, The Ivory aka El Marfil has got to be about one of the lamest movies I have ever watched. Hardly worth the time of a revue, basically there is an Ivory tusk horn that the family has been given in a game of chess. It is said to have great magical powers and the ability to grant three wishes should they decide to believe in it. But believing in it's powers unleashes the evil of greed that costs the son his life and mom must unleash the power again to wish him back. Just horrible story line, bad hammy acting and with subtitles, maybe there's more to it than I saw but I just don't want to work that hard to see a movie. Sorry could find absolutely nothing in the way of an image from the movie.

Collapse (2007) NR - 1 Star

Boy this is a real stinker of a movie. Written, directed and produced by Javier Babera - Javier, keep your day job. Man the acting in this movie is just about as bad as it can possibly get. Especially with the head dude calling all the shots. Basically John's dad is murdered and leaves a lot of money behind to his son. The girlfriend is suppose to get into his life but instead takes matters into her own hands and kills him. She buries him outside in the yard but he escapes and now he's massively pissed off and every one's going to pay. Yawn.

This movie is so bad, I can't even find a picture to go with it.

The Science of Sleep (2005) R - 1 Star

I don't know but I didn't get this movie at all. To me it was a completely absurd look into these characters mind that didn't make any sense to me. I usually follow a movie all the way through to see if it has something to offer towards the end. But I just couldn't do it. So if someone can tell me what the heck this movie was about, and why I should give it another chance, please let me know. It got a 3 1/2 rating on most sights. Is it me?
