Home of the Brave (2006) R - 3½ Stars

A group of soldier's in Iraq, who have been changed forever by what they have experienced, are finally sent home where they have a hard time fitting back into society.

Will Marsh (Samuel L. Jackson), Vanessa Price (Jessica Biel), Jamal Aiken (Curtis Jackson aka 50 cents) and Tommy Yates (Brian Presley) are four of the soldiers fighting the war in Iraq. They finally receive news that their unit will be going home. Everyone is thinking of what they are going to do first when their back in America. Then they get the news, there's one more humanitarian mission they need to carry out before they can pack up and leave.

Their mission is to bring medical supplies to the small Iraqi village of Al Hayy. As they approach the town, they are ambushed, surrounded and viciously attacked by insurgents and many in their unit loose their lives. Injured and devastated, they are finally returned back to native soil.

Once back in Spokane, this group of soldiers can't function and doesn't know how to fit into life anymore. Nothing they do makes sense or is fulfilling and the constant psychological scars of the war, haunt them nightly. The four need to find a way to pick up the pieces and go on.
