Nick of Time (1995) R - 3½ Stars

Gene Watson (Johnny Depp) and his 10 year old daughter Lynn (Courtney Chase) are in Los Angeles to attend a funeral. As they are coming out of Union Station in downtown Los Angeles, Mr. Smith (Christopher Walken) and Ms. Jones (Roma Maffia), flash phony police badges and order them into a van. In the confusion, they tell Gene to listen carefully. He has just 75 minutes to kill Governor Eleanor Grant (Marsha Mason) or they will kill his daughter.

As they are watching his every move, he is unable to make any attempt to contact the authorities in fear they will kill Lynn. His only hope is when he confides in a shoe shine man Huey (Charles S. Dutton). Gene is constantly reminded of just how much time is left. He's an ordinary man trapped in an extraordinary situation, forced to act before it is too late. Will Huey be able to make a difference in time?
