Invincible (2006) PG - 4 Stars

I must say the concept of this movie seemed pretty far fetched but it's based on a true story of the late 1970's, so I decided to check it out. A man in his 30's, is given a chance to play football with the Philadelphia Eagles. He had never even played football in college, but he's given a chance and pulls it off. I think this was a really great, inspiring, root for the underdog, movie.

Coach Vermeil (Greg Kinnear) of the Philadelphia Eagles, made a surprise announcement that he would hold an open tryout for the public to audition for a new player. Though most thought a quality player would never be found this way, they had no idea about meeting Vince.

Vince Papale (Mark Wahlberg) was a substitute teacher and at age 30, also bartended part time. After loosing his wife and his teaching job, he's pretty down on his luck. It's a local bar where most people who patronise there, know each other. Vince lives and breaths the Eagles, and knows just about every fact about them. He even visualizes what it must be like to stand on the field with them. The game is always on at the bar. When the gang hears about the offer, they enlist Vince, who strongly objects at first, to try out. He soon is living the good life and every fan's fantasy, standing on the field with a cheering crowd rooting for the hometown hero.
