The Bucket List (2007) PG13 - 4 Stars

I saw this movie at a theater in snowy Chicago when I was on vacation in January, 2008. Cool theater only seats about 60 people and tables in front of each row for food. Nice wide computer type chairs on wheels to sit on and heck they even serve alcohol. I think that added to the enjoyment of this film as well. I think it was called the Hollywood theater, sort of funny name as I don't know of any theaters here like this.

This movie probably means more to you the older you are. Edward Cole (Jack Nicholson) has money coming out of his ears. A corporate billionaire, Edward doesn't have much in life to worry about but when he finds himself in a hospital, notices he doesn't have many friends either. Carter Chambers (Morgan Freeman) is sharing a room with Edward and tries to make conversation with Edward who doesn't want to be bothered. He instead quietly observes Carter interacting with his family who visit him. Carter is preparing himself a list of all the things he wants to do before he dies. His are fairly easy requests such as, a moment in time that takes your breath away, and when Edward finds the list, he adds his desires to it. Together this unlikely duo get themselves out of the hospital and onto fulfilling their list. The two learn a lot about each other, whats important in life and become the best of friends.

I love Jack and the combination of him and Morgan Freeman sounds great. However the reviews I have read have been mixed...so I have been delaying seeing this. I will definitely watch this now! (Since I am in the older folk category and should write my own bucket list)
