Lions for Lambs (2007) R - 3 Stars

Nice idea how the movie is split into three time frames all discussing the same issue but in three completely different ways and all taking place at the same time. Strong cast and acting but the movie could have had more insight into each of the three areas it was depicting even though all areas were related. I felt the movie rushed us through rather than explaining anything. I get the point.

Janine Roth (Meryl Streep) is a veteran reporter who's been given the chance to write an exclusive story about the new War on Terror in Afghanistan. Sen. Jasper Irving (Tom Cruise) wants her to write a story to take the focus off of Iraq. When she is getting filled in, Dr. Stephen Malley (Robert Redford) is trying to mentor his young talented student on getting involved in life. Dr. Malley references a pair of students in his class, Ernest Rodriguez (Michael Peña) and Todd Hayes (Andrew Garfield) who enlist in the army to prove they can make a difference. Everyone is faced with what to do with the information they are given.
