Two of the least likely people to become friends find they have more to give each other then they ever imagined. Great preformances by all and the storyline is moving.Steve Burke (David Duchovny) a very successful architect designer, has built the ideal house for his wife Audrey (Halle Berry) and two children, Harper (Alexis Llewellyn) and Dory (Micah Berry). The family has no worries and lives a rich life until Steve is tragically killed being the good Samaritan in a domestic fight he witnessed. Jerry Sunborne (Benicio Del Toro) was Steve's close friend since childhood and Steve had always looked after him even though Jerry had an serious heroin addiction.
Audrey needs to pick up the pieces of her life and even though she's always hated the friendship her husband had with an addict, she tries to do what Steve would have wanted and help Jerry out by giving him a place to stay. But Audrey wishes Jerry was the one dead since he doesn't care about his life. When she find Jerry knows more about her children than she'd like, her grief throws him unintentionally back to his addiction. The two must both fight now to accept the good.
