Grizzly Man (2005) R - 3½ Stars

Timothy Treadwell was a self made so called expert on grizzly bears. In the summer of 1990 and for 12 summers after that, Timothy traveled to Alaska's Katmai National Park and Reserve to camp near the bears so he could study everything about them. He felt that most people didn't understand the grizzly and were not doing enough to protect them. He would get within feet of the bears with his trusty video camera in hand and try to communicate. Timothy assigned them all names so he could keep track of their performances year after year. In the summer of 2003, Timothy took his girlfriend Amie Huguenard along with him. Both of their remains were found close to where Timothy would make his last production. This film shows footage of his life and death with the bears, as well as interviews from people who knew him.
