Lonely Hearts (2006) R - 3½ Stars

This movie is based on the real life Lonely Heart killers of the 1940's. John Travolta does a good job at playing a dectective so hung up on his case, his looses his wife in the process.

Elmer C. "Buster" Robinson (John Travolta), and partner Charles Hildebrandt (James Gandolfini) are homicide detectives of the 40's. After Elmer's wife commits suicide, he throws himself into his work to keep preoccupied. The case he and his partner are working now seems to really effect him.

Ray Fernandez (Jared Leto) and Martha Beck (Salma Hayek) are the worst of criminals as they pray on elderly widows. After they get their lonely victims to trust and believe in them, the steal their money and murder them.
